Received a grant through the American Academy of Religion to look at the trans-national impact of Muslim figures such as Rumi.
 
Received both a Faculty Development Council and a Research Council Grant for the summer of 2000 to do research on contemporary reform movements in Iran.

Received a Wabash grant to conduct a Pedagogy Workshop for training Graduate Students at Duke University. (March 3rd-5th, 2000). 

American Research Center in Egypt, Grant for study in Egypt (Summer 1995).
