The words of God are beautiful on pages, gorgeous on buildings, lovelier on the lips of humanity, and loveliest yet in the hearts. Today was filled with them all. We began with a visit to Sokollu Mehmet Pasha, a gem of a mosque built by the genius Sinan. Masha’allah, today’s Istanbul is his city, if it were not the city of angels. He is said to have built 80 large Friday mosques, and some 400 smaller mosques. This is just one of the 400 jewels, but what a jewel it is. |

This summer, I am going to be leading a study program to Turkey along with Robert Rozehnal of Lehigh University. We will be accompnaying 12 students on this venture. I attended Sacred Birth Program in honor of 1437th year of Prophet Muhammad (pbu)'s birth in Istanbul, Turkey. Cenan Education, Culture and Health Foundation, TURKKAD Turkish Women's Cultural Association, and Altay Foundation organized this evening and I was one of the speakers. It was a beautiful program.
